About the Site

"Taking the pain out of home finance."

Mortgage Disclosure was conceived and written with the intention

of demystifying the home financing process for home buyers.

Our years as loan officers, processors, and underwriters offered

proof that mortgages were hard on borrower's hearts as well as

their wallets, and that a little bit of quality service went a long way

toward easing the emotional and financial burden of applying and

  borrowing.

  "Service is the key."

It is quickly obvioius that those who do well in the mortgage

business (or any other business) are the ones who consistently

provide excellent service.  Providing that service was a great joy

through the course of our tenures, and after retiring we wondered

how we might continue to provide that service.   The idea of

writing a mortgage advice guide occurred to us, and out of that

  idea evolved this website.

  "Knowledge is power"

Home finance is an information-intense experience, but doesn't

require any especially scholarly or technical skills.   With

mortgages, knowledge is power and power is easily within the

grasp of anyone willing to do a little reading.   This site will

narrow (but not completely close) the gap between what you

know and what your loan officer knows.  It's not meant to replace

him or her, just to make it possible for you to know best what you

want, and to judge the quality of the service you're receiving from

the person charged with helping you get it.

If it's not here, feel free to ask, and we'll do our best to provide an

aswer.  Good luck, and congratulations in advance on your new

  home!
